Obedience Skillbuilding Series

I have actively trained and competed in Obedience for over 15 years. I took this course with my first small dog and first terrier. I have tried to train this dog using methods and techniques learned previously but they all fell short and my instructors were encouraging me to get a new dog. The methods Hannah used have helped me find a new love in training my dog. For our relationship and his needs this was the best course I could ever take. My dog is responding quickly to these methods and I have accomplished things with him that have failed many times over the last 2 years. His issues regarding competing will include more than "training method" so we may not compete - or most likely I will find another Fenzi class to help me in that area! Rachel J

Great class! Recommend the Skill Building courses for anyone who needs specific exercises broken down very efficiently. Excellent foundation training ! The personalized attention and recommendations led to success and confidence every time. Hannah is a wonderful, passionate instructor ! Well done ! Ana C

Hannah takes you through the steps of building the behavior chains we'll need in the obedience ring so the dog and handler are confident in their tasks.  She always gives positive feedback, gives helpful comments either to correct/improve performance and how to progress to the next step

What an absolutely fantastic series of classes.  Hannah provides clear, constructive feedback in a manner that remains positive for the dog AND handler.  She encourages you every step of the way, as it is step by step as she has broken complex exercises into small pieces.  This approach builds confidence in both members of the team and takes a lot of the mystery out of the open and utility exercises.  Heather L

I can't believe the difference in my dog. He has learned skills so quickly and so well compared to what I have learned in live classes. I love my live classes but I have to say that the way that Hannah splits these skills down is amazing. My dog went from dumbbell aversion in Skillbuilding 1 to having a nearly complete Retrieve over High Jump and starting to retrieve with scent discrimination in Skillbuilding 3! Unbelievable. I recommend these classes highly!! Stacy B.

Skill Building 3 was my very first experience taking an FDSA class at the gold level. Hannah's lecture materials and videos were excellent and easy to follow. Her feedback was always encouraging and constructive, and if I had follow-up questions, she made every effort to answer them clearly. Her expansive wealth of knowledge and experience allows her to make individualized suggestions for each team when necessary. Hannah, thank you for what was a valuable, enjoyable, and simply great class!!! Clarissa B. CPDT-KA

OB520: Sensational Stays

Sensational Stays should win the "Best new class" of the semester! With stays being such a hot topic in obedience, this class shows a very systematic way for creating a confident, well trained dog for stays. A must have course for any dog trainer! Julie S

Hannah has changed my entire outlook on the approach to Stays and given me the tools for us to be successful. She is brilliant at breaking down each piece and providing expert feedback in an encouraging and supportive way. I highly recommend it regardless of where you are in your training! Ana C.

This was an approach to Stays like I've never seen before, and really helped build a foundation for a solid stay, and taught us how to keep our dogs happy and confident in the activities. Thank you Hannah! - Molly B

This has been my favorite FDSA course so far. It really broke down every possible components of stays into very manageable parts, and brought up issues I hadn't even thought of. I feel that the material presented in this course will help me in all dog sports as well as making my dog a better overall animal to live with. I can't recommend this course enough to ANYONE who owns a dog!

Sensational Stays is a great class, even for dogs who in theory have been taught to stay. I would love to have taken this course a lifetime of dogs ago: it is a wonderful way to teach the dog self control, keeping their emotional state at a comfortable level, while engaging in a steady progression of fun games! Will certainly start my next puppy off with Hannah's methods! MC PS As I mentioned in my other review, you know you are hooked on Fenzi courses, when you check the forums before email or anything else!

 FE550: Unbroken

Hannah does it again. Unbroken lived up to all of my expectations but, even more importantly, gave many unexpected pearls of wisdom and not just a few epiphanies. I'm taking the information I learned studying one behavior chain in class, and applying it not just to other behaviors that are broken (or bent) but also to training new behaviors to prevent breaking from the beginning. FABULOUS class! -Rachel B

This class was all about empowerment. Hannah gave us the tools and structure with detailed personalized attention to ensure success, regardless of the level of difficulty or problem at hand. We got our groove back !!! Thanks, Hannah ! Ana C.

Hannah Branigan is BRILLIANT...this class is brilliant...her lectures are brilliant...listening to her talk training to each gold team is brilliant...I can't recommend this class enough!! Hannah takes the emotional component out of problem solving, and shows how to read and diagnose exactly what is happening with your dog so that you can find ways to improve your skills and communicate with your dog. You will learn in depth about behavior and all of the contributing factors to getting behaviors. A MUST TAKE CLASS!!! You will learn about yourself and your dog in this highly customized class...and you will feel supported but nurtured and gently pushed as a trainer. Take this class! You will love it!! I promise :-) Kellie C.

Without a doubt, this is the best class, on ANY topic, I have ever taken. The content has been life altering in my training life & far beyond. I can't thank Hannah enough for the attention to detail to this fabulous & intense class. I can't recommend it highly enough. The participation has been amazing & I will truly miss this one when it is over.

This class was an unexpected delight. I'm more than impressed with content & participation. I am so thankful for your classes at Fenzi & your DVDs. I'm a huge fan & have insisted several friends join your classes &/or get your DVDs. My non-force free friends are starting to see another way & you're responsible for that. THANK YOU for all you've done for me & the influence your skills are providing to friends who need a new plan. You rock! Riot looks forward to your next classes too.

OB550 - Heeling Extravaganza

Both your lecture material and companion videos are extraordinarily clear - a true pleasure to work from! I especially loved your "drone" footwork videos - they were extremely helpful - not exactly what I had been doing previously. I have come to appreciate how they keep me out of my dog's way while at the same time providing a clear cue of my next move. Thanks Hannah!

Hannah's Heeling Extravaganza delves deeply into the fine points of heeling for both dog and handler. From providing ways to develop hind end awareness for your pooch to addressing footwork details for the handler, Hannah has it covered with crystal clear example videos and explanations. Sally M

I love how this class provided all the necessary info to break heeling down into the smallest of elements. Lots of info jam-packed into lectures that will provide years of benefit. Hannah Rocks! ~Jeanne D.

This class was amazing and I had no idea I would get so much out of it. I knew there were some things that needed help in our heeling, but so many other little pieces got better that I didn't even know COULD get better. Loved it!!

This has been a huge help in my heeling. It breaks down what I need to do as a handler as well as what the dog needs to do into small, achievable steps. It splits down the many components of competition heeling so you can focus in on your weaknesses. A great follow up to Precision Heeling for big and small dogs alike. Hannah is an excellent instructor and creates easy to understand lecture materials and videos, and really supports her students through the process of learning heeling. Some weeks it was very hard to hit that submit button for my videos, but she always made me feel great about them afterwards, while still giving me precise things to work on for the next video. Thanks!

This class really broke down each piece of heeling skills into very small pieces. It was extremely helpful to work on perfecting every part from set up to each step of every skill. This class really offers the opportunity to succeed. Hannah is clear, concise, consistent and skilled at supporting students in a way that one never feels bad about their progress. I love the classes at FDSA and particularly love Hannah's classes.
